Jenna Young E-Portfolio

My best work in language arts this year was my prose. For this assignment we were tasked with creating a poem(prose) modeled after one from the novel we were reading at the time: Inside out & Back Again. This book was a book mainly written in poems but the part my work was based on was all about a meaningful symbol in our family; mine being love.

I think that even though this piece was from the beginning of the year it is my best piece because of the thought I put into it. This assignment began with brainstorming symbols in my family, but many of which I thought of were not that special. When I decided on this symbol i had to go through and model after the poem what our symbol meant to my family. I think this process made this some of my best work as I really searched for something meaningful and how to properly display what it means to me and my family.
